About

UNTIL NOW :

In the 70s, I completed my education on land in metal working, steel construction and draftsman trades. Since my uncle was already in the Imperial Navy, the sea must have been in my blood. Even as a child, I knew I wanted out to sea.

As a young adult, there followed a long period of traveling the high seas.

Starting as a machine technician and after completing many courses, including: as lifeboat petty officer, fireman, advanced nautical/seamanship training, as MPC and finally as Ship Operations Master deck and engine.

Towards the end of the 80s, education and training in wood craftsmanship.

As a globetrotter, the 90s were, even though (or maybe because) it was something like a sabbatical, very diversified and educational. To expand my knowledge and experience in boat building, and to find the architype of boat building in all practicality, I decided on a stay of several months and employment under local conditions on a Dhau-shipyard in Karachi / Pakistan.

Followed by a long term residency in the USA.

There, I had the good fortune of meeting the great treasure hunter: Mel Fisher, in Key West, who unfortunatley passed away way ahead of his time. I then headed for a prolonged stay on the Cape de Verde Islands. Here, near the African Coast, it was the old wooden and steel ships that kept my interest.

The turn of the millennium found me back on German soil, and 2008 in the beautiful little township Pölich on the scenic river Mosel, where I finally dropped anchor.

Back to the roots, and setting up my own complete workshop. Starting off as a private workshop for my own boats at the Moselherz harbor, it gradually developed into a commercial operation for the preservation of classical boats and yachts, as well as providing boat and towing services and including classical boat rental.

OUR OBJECTIVE :

Our number one priority is the preservation and maintenance of classical wooden and steel boats.

Besides that, but with the same enthusiasm, is our attention to servicing boats. You must be able to rely on your boat, and it should always be ready to go - that's why you need to provide your boat with the best service possible.

YOUR SATISFACTION WITH OUR SERVICE IS IMPORTANT TO US

Historic boats and yachts made of wood or steel of a bygone era are a cultural heritage which is very much worth preserving.

But not only the old boats, which are (unfortunately) mostly found in a catastrophic state, or that have been changed over the decades so much that they have lost much of their original beauty and elegance, need to be saved from decay. Also attachments, accessories and parts, which can still be found with a trained eye here and there, are witnesses to a very excellent boat building past. In the hands of an experienced boatsman, even the smallest piece tells a little story.

One of our future projects will be to collect beautiful and unusual classic boats, along with even the smallest parts and accessories, and to present them to interested buyers as well as the "just curious".

Inspecting a neglected classical boat with an expert eye, making a decision whether it is worth saving or not, and then to buy and restore it in our workshop is a wonderful and rewarding challange.
